FORT WAYNE, IN – WaterFurnace International, Inc., a leading manufacturer of residential and commercial geothermal and water source heat pumps, announces that WaterFurnace Envision and Synergy3D geothermal heat pumps have achieved the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2012 designation.

In its second year, the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient designation is an initiative that identifies and advances the most efficient products among those that qualify for the ENERGY STAR in particular product categories. Categories were selected and recognition criteria were established to ensure that products that receive this recognition demonstrate efficiency performance that is truly exceptional, inspirational, or leading edge — consistent with the interests of environmentally-motivated consumers and early adopters.

“Energy efficiency and environmental responsibility are at the core of every WaterFurnace product, so we’re especially proud to achieve this designation,” said Michael Albertson, senior vice president of sales and marketing at WaterFurnace. “Both the Envision and Synergy3D Series achieve nearly 500 percent efficiency in heating and energy efficiency ratios (EER) in cooling of 30 and 23.7 respectively, allowing homeowners to enjoy savings as high as 70 percent on their utility bills while reducing their carbon footprint.”

The Envision and Synergy3D Series also feature:

  • Versatile two-speed scroll compressors for superb efficiency and reliability
  • Sophisticated microprocessors that sequence components to ensure peak performance
  • Onboard diagnostics for easy service
  • Environmentally friendly R410 to enhance efficiency and savings
  • Variable-speed electronically commutated motors (ECM) blower motors for enhanced comfort, quiet operation and energy savings
  • Large coated air coils that improve efficiency and dehumidification during the summer

To earn the 2012 Most Efficient designation, a manufacturer must be an ENERGY STAR partner in good standing and have their product’s performance certified with an Environmental Protection Agency-recognized certification body. The program continues ENERGY STAR’s work to provide consumers with the best efficiency information so they can make investments that will lower their energy bills and environmental impact. Consumers will be able to identify Most Efficient products on the ENERGY STAR website and in stores by looking for the Most Efficient designation.
