NORTHBROOK, ILL. — The Illinois Fire Service Institute presented the Appreciation Award to F.E. Moran Fire Protection-National in late January for its continuous fire education support. F.E. Moran Fire Protection-National has been a long supporter of fire protection education, providing training and demonstrations for architects, AHJs, and students.

The Illinois Fire Service Institute is a fire academy for the state of Illinois and is operated by the University of Illinois. Since the early 1920s, it has provided fire protection professionals with education on fire fighting and life saving techniques. Seventy percent of Illinois firefighters are volunteers, so the donated support of private companies is essential to the ongoing training for first responders. The Illinois Fire Service Institute relies on companies like F.E. Moran Fire Protection-National to assist in providing training tools for these volunteers.

F.E. Moran Fire Protection-National has provided the Illinois Fire Service Institute with fire fighting training tools for several years. This year, it provided side-by-side burn presentations at several training facilities; built portable, simulation rooms that can be assembled onsite for side-by-side fire sprinkler demonstrations; and provided a fire pump and valve assembly training at its Champaign, Ill., shop.

F.E. Moran Fire Protection-National provides fire protection solutions across the country for commercial, industrial, storage occupancy, residential, retail, healthcare, and education facilities.
