LAS VEGAS — F.E. Moran Fire Protection, National’s Jeff Curlee was on the winning team at the National Fire Sprinkler Association’s Top Tech competition that took place April 4-5, 2013, at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

Individuals from across the country took an exam to qualify to join a team in this intense competition. Those with the highest scores were paired in groups of three to represent one of eight regional teams: Northeast, South, Great Lakes, Central, Great Plains, West, Northwest, and Canada. Curlee qualified to be placed on a team and joined the Great Lakes team.

Each team competed head to head in a game show format answering fire sprinkler technician-related questions. A correct answer earned a point and an incorrect answer earned a deduction. This continued until only one team was standing.

The competition was heated, going back and forth between the Northeast team and the Great Lakes team. In the last question, Great Lakes pulled ahead, and won the competition. The final score was 20-10.

F.E. Moran Fire Protection, headquartered in Northbrook, Ill., provides fire sprinklers and associated alarm and detection services for a variety of markets across the U.S. Its experienced design team, dedicated project managers, and safe installation practices make it a top pick for fire protection solutions.
