EMCOR Services Northeast executive receives award of excellence

Frank H. Norton, executive vice president and business manager at EMCOR Services Northeast Inc. was recently presented with the D.S. O’Brien Award of Excellence.

STOUGHTON, MASS. – Frank H. Norton, executive vice president and business manager at EMCOR Services Northeast Inc. was recently presented with the D.S. O’Brien Award of Excellence by the Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA) as its Annual Educational Conference recently in Bonita Springs, Fla.

EMCOR Services Northeast is the leading provider of mobile facilities services in the Northeast. The company is a subsidiary of EMCOR Group Inc.

MSCA represents more than 1,400 companies providing large-scale mechanical heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration services in the U.S. The organization’s D.S. O’Brien Award of Excellence was established in 2000 to recognize individuals exhibiting extraordinary dedication and commitment to the mechanical service contracting industry and to MSCA.

“This year’s recipient of the D.S. O’Brien Award truly encompasses all the criteria that make this award special,” said MSCA Board of Managers Chairman Jeff McCoy. “Through Frank’s hard work and commitment to the industry, MSCA achieved many milestones during his tenure on the Board of Managers and as Board Chairman, and through his activities on the Labor Relations Committee. Under Frank’s leadership, the Association reached new heights; and he continues to play a very active and instrumental role in all labor matters.”

“Being recognized by your peers is perhaps the greatest accolade one can achieve, and I am truly honored to receive the D.S. O’Brien Award,” said Norton. “The work that MSCA does on behalf of mechanical contractors is critical to the industry’s success and prosperity. My involvement with the organization has enabled me to give something back to the mechanical contracting community and has been extremely rewarding, both personally and professionally.”

Prior to his position at EMCOR Services Northeast in Stoughton, Mass., Norton was president and co-founder of Commonwealth Air Conditioning & Heating Inc. in South Boston, now also part of EMCOR. He was responsible for planning and directing business, marketing and quality control for the 85-employee air conditioning service company. Earlier in his career, Norton was a service technician and then a service manager for Bay State York Co., formerly in Shrewsbury, Mass.

Norton is past president of the New England Mechanical Contractors Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the MSCA of New England. He serves on various committees in these organizations including the National Labor Negotiating Committee of the MSCA in Washington D.C.

With roots that go back to 1946, EMCOR Services Northeast – CommAir/Balco specializes in service, repair, replacement, installation and design/build for large commercial HVAC equipment including centrifugal absorption chillers, boilers, pumps, fans and controls. Its expertise includes servicing, maintenance, repair and replacement of large central heating and cooling equipment and systems and on-site operations in several clients’ key data centers.
