A-S names PepsiCo exec bath/kitchen president
PISCATAWAY, N.J. — American Standard Cos. has named James E. Dwyer as president of its global bath and kitchen business, reporting to Chairman and CEO Fred Poses as of Sept. 1.
Dwyer joins American Standard after spending a decade in senior executive roles with PepsiCo and Kraft General Foods. Since June 2002, he served as president of Tropicana Products, North America, where he successfully grew revenues and improved profitability. Previously, he was PepsiCo's senior vice president/ merger integration, where he oversaw the global integration of PepsiCo and the Quaker Oats Co.
"Jim Dwyer is a talented, well-rounded business leader with a proven track record in marketing, operations and sales," Poses said. " He has demonstrated success in delivering profitable growth, enhancing major consumer brands and strengthening distribution systems. With this background, he's the right person to lead our bath and kitchen business and continue the progress that's been made in improving our operations, as well as in developing successful new designs and products and building more powerful marketing programs."
After joining Tropicana in 1995, Dwyer served as a senior vice president/ marketing North America and subsequently held increasingly responsible positions within PepsiCo's Tropicana division including senior vice president and general manager for North America's non-grocery business and Latin America, and senior vice president/ North American Commercial Operations.
American Standard also announced that Paul J. Curlander, chairman and CEO of Lexmark International, has been elected to the company's board of directors.
Curlander has been with Lexmark since its formation in 1991. He was appointed chairman in 1999 after being named CEO in 1998. Under his leadership, the company has reported compounded annual revenue growth of 10% over the past five years. Before Lexmark, Curlander spent 17 years with IBM in various product development and management positions.
