NAOHSM joins sponsors of 2010 HVACR and Plumbing Instructor Workshop
DES PLAINES, ILL – The HVACR & Plumbing Instructor Workshop, which will focus on “Advancing Green Mechanical Concepts,” is pleased to welcome the National Association of Oil Heating Service Managers (NAOSHM) as a new sponsor for the 2010 Workshop.
NAOSHM is an association dedicated to the advancement of oiheating service professionals since 1954.
“Our mission is education and this is a natural fit for our organization,” said Judy Garber, NAOHSM Executive Administrator. “Our goal is to provide our group with standardized methods of training so that our technicians provide quality service to their customers. It is simply practical to encourage instructors who teach our future technicians these same principles.”
In addition to sponsorship, NAOHSM will run a “train the trainer” session at the Workshop, which will be held March 24-26, 2010, at the National Conference Center in Lansdowne, Va. This session is geared towards those who teach adults. Attendees will learn some basic skills needed to effectively teach adults, how to prepare for class and develop materials and evaluation techniques. This is an ongoing customized program NAOHSM has developed through Penn State University. This is a condensed version of the 2-1/2 day class they host a couple of times a year. In addition, NAOHSM also host 1-day classes on specific technical topics. That way, trainers get to practice and they have a better opportunity of reaching the goal of standardized training.
The HVACR & Plumbing Instructor Workshop is sponsored by ten industry-leading organizations, including, the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), the Council of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Educators (CARE), Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI),HRAI, NAOHSM North American Technician Excellence (NATE), Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association (PHCC) Educational Foundation, Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES), and SkillsUSA.
